1. I saw that you have two sections of calla lily varieties. What is the difference between these sections?

That's right. We have our premium quality Callafornia Calla® varieties that are suitable for both cut, garden and pot use, and we also carry superb and unique New Zealand breed varieties that are specialized for cut flower production. Backed by a long history of selective breeding, the New Zealand breed callas boast uniform, true-to-type coloring, tall stems and a marketable bloom shape and color that will provide the maximum benefit and profit for the cut flower grower.

2. Is there a minimum order requirement?

Although there is no minimum order, there will be a $30.00 packaging and handling fee for shipments of under $300.00. Also, when ordering the colored Callafornia Callas®, please bear in mind that, for each variety, orders must adhere to the specified tray counts. Click here to see our minimum tray counts for colored Callafornia Calla® varieties.

3. Do I have to order in specific quantities?

If you are ordering any of the colored Callafornia Calla® varieties, orders must be in conformance with our standard carton/tray count packs. There are minimum counts per size that correspond to the warehouse tray counts and all orders must be in multiples of these tray counts by size. Click here to see our minimum tray counts. There are no specific quantities for the aethiopica types or any of our cut flower varieties.

4. May I order just a few calla lily bulbs for my garden?

Yes! We also ship calla lily bulbs in smaller quantities that are perfect for home gardening use. They work great in gardens, planters and also as houseplants. Please visit our online calla lily store here to order your calla lily bulbs directly online.

5. Can I receive my shipment directly on my doorstep or do I have to pick it up at the airport?

This choice is up to you. Shipping costs will be slightly higher when the bulbs are delivered to your doorstep.

6. When exactly do you ship?

Please contact us for shipping information regarding the New Zealand breeds and Callafornia Callas as availability sometimes varies throughout the year.

7. When do you recommend planting the calla bulbs for holiday forcing?

Forcers' recommended plant weeks for holiday forcing are as follows:

Valentine's Day:
Easter Day:
Mother's Day:

(weeks 43 - 46)
(weeks 1 - 4)
(weeks 8 - 10)

When planting callas October through December, please allow 2 to 3 extra weeks (13-14 total) for peak bloom. For these early plantings, plan also on using additional Bonzi, maintaining cooler temperatures and optimizing available light.

8. What is this pre-treatment?

A pre-treatment option with giberellins and disinfectants is available to both cut and pot growers, as well as dry sale customers at an additional $0.025 per bulb. This pre-treatment both insures a healthy crop and doubles the number of blooms on most varieties. We highly recommend and encourage the pre-treatment option.

9. What if I need to cancel or change my order?

Please allow a minimum of two weeks for changes or cancellations of orders. For all cancellations less than two weeks prior to shipment, a restocking charge of $30 will apply. If the product has already been pre-treated, 10% of total invoice value will be billed.

10. How soon will my order ship?

During the peak season of mid-November to mid-March, please allow two weeks between placing your order and the start of shipping. this is due to the pre-conditioning process, which begins two weeks in advance of the scheduled ship week. Please also bear in mind that the ship date on the confirmation is the Monday of that week. The order will ship that week and not on that particular day.

11. Do you guarantee the success of these bulbs?

The calla lily is a particularly disease-prone crop, almost impossible to grow without fumigation and chemicals. All growers are encouraged to adhere to the guidelines and growing information provided with each order. Problems will be credited only if these guidelines are followed.

12. What are your most popular varieties?

Aethiopica White, Green Goddess and the yellow callas are our best-sellers.

13. Do you have any recommedations or information on how to best grow and care for calla lilies?

Yes. We have guidelines and cultural recommendations for both pot and cut flower growers. Specific information on each variety will also accompany each order. Please click here to view our growing information online.

14. But what about freezing during shipping?

All bulbs must be protected from freezing during transit. Some orders may be delayed if freezing weather persists. We will hold orders if freezing conditions exist across country.

15. What happens if my Calla lily bulbs arrive damaged?

Please report problems of substandard or damaged product within 5 days of receipt in order for credit to be issued.

16. You have stated that prices per bulb are reduced with high order quantity. I would like to hear more on this.

We are able to give a discount on higher quantity orders. Please contact us: (800) 533 8573.
